Strut Scape: Neighborhood Dance Party [April 15]
Strut Scape is a neighborhood dance party, fundraiser, music-video production, and live show hosted by Baltimore psych-rockers Patterson Trash. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 15, and start assembling your wardrobe. We’re encouraging everyone to dress in their flashiest, wildest clothing and accessories.
2:00p: DJ ES starts spinning chill dance vibes down at the 26th Street Green. All are welcome to come sit, dance, or just mill about and take in the spectacle. The band will be shooting a music video that dances right into the heart of the park. Beverages will be available via donation.
4:00p: We’ll finally stop dancing down the street over and over while our friends and neighbors enjoy the 124 bpm vibes, and throw down an electrifying rock set right in the park. We’ll be playing our new album live for the first time ever, and welcome a fourth trashboi: riff-daddy Jon B. Lots of firsts. We hope you’ll join us.
Happy Hell is about being trapped inside during Covid and being genuinely grateful for the time we had, buried alive, with the people closest to our hearts. It’s also a celebration of how eager we are to get outside and party with the folks we’ve been missing. To capture this feeling, we’re hoping to drag all of our friends and neighbors out of their houses to dance down the block with us and do weird things in their yards. We love our city and want the world to know how we get down in charm town. More importantly, we live and practice on this block and are proud of the Harwood/Charles Village communities and what they’ve accomplished building this beautiful park from the dust of disaster. The park is located on the corner of Guilford Ave and 26th Street.
This IS a fundraiser. Proceeds will be donated to Moveable Feast and the 26th Street Green
Happy Hell: Lyrics
written by Patterson Trash
I’m not gonna lie,
things could have sucked so much less.
My body vibration is tuned to madness.
My bones are screaming by late afternoon.
But every night I’m exactly where I want to be.
Where I’d be anyway.
Well, I’ve been buried alive but it has hardly sealed my fate.
I’ve been sentenced to life with one sexy cell mate.
I’ve been buried alive with the love of my life.
Despite the darkness closing outside,
This happy hell might be the closest thing to heaven I ever reach.
Every day is the same, I spend every moment loving you.
I’m completely insane, I’m sure it’s always bugging you.
I’m off dreaming all afternoon.
But every night, I’m exactly where I want to be.
We aren’t all on our own, we’re all inside alone,
We’ll make the best of it, we’ve gotta make the best of it.
